Farm, Food & Freedom

Growing Strength from the Soil

At Casa Blanco Farms, the land is more than soil — it’s a teacher, a healer, and a guide. Each day, our young residents learn through rhythm and routine: planting seeds, feeding goats, preparing meals, and finding purpose in the work of their own hands. What begins as a simple task becomes a quiet lesson in discipline, responsibility, and the kind of confidence that only grows through doing.

Here, the land restores what life has taken. The animals bring out compassion, the garden teaches patience, and the daily work builds dignity. In this harmony of effort and care, young people who once felt forgotten start to see themselves differently — capable, grounded, and free. They learn that independence isn’t given; it’s grown, one seed, one sunrise, one act of faith at a time.

State Level Advocacy

From our first days fighting for children’s rights to today, advocacy is central to Save the Children’s work. In 2014, we founded Save the Children Action Network (SCAN), our political advocacy arm, to work with our nation’s leaders at all levels to expand early childhood education in the U.S., protect the world’s children living in conflict and much more. PAC Government Relations Issues

Like our founder, Eglantyne Jebb, Save the Children is an outspoken champion for every last child. Drawing on a century of expertise, we work to ensure children’s voices are heard, their rights are realized and their issues are given top priority. We educate and engage policymakers to champion policies and programs that improve children’s lives, especially the most vulnerable.
